Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep understanding of sushi-making techniques. This role is essential in delivering high-quality sushi dishes that meet our fine dining standards. The Sushi Chef will work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure that all food safety and quality standards are upheld.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and create a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring presentation and taste meet our high standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure freshness.
  • Assist in training kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and used safely.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests when necessary to enhance their dining experience.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a fine dining or catering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, particularly in sushi making and knife skills.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations within the culinary industry.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Passion for culinary arts with a willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and trends.
