Financial Controller

The Financial Controller will be responsible for the preparation of monthly ASC and Clinic financial reports, related workpapers and account reconciliations. The Financial Controller will manage the accounting team and work to allocate tasks evenly across the team. The successful candidate will be self-driven with the ability to work independently.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Utilizing hands-on accounting experience and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles and company practices, the Financial Controller works closely with senior management to ensure the accuracy of all the financial reporting activity and associated transactions. Their day-to-day responsibilities include:
  • Lead the month end, quarter end, and year-end close process
  • Analyze complex financial reports and records
  • Spot errors in systems and transactions and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Provide technical support and advice to accounting team to ensure accuracy
  • Ensure daily, weekly, monthly accounting tasks are completed
  • Train, mentor and mange performance of accounting staff
  • Work with AP, Purchasing, and revenue cycle teams
  • Perform variance analyses and prepare and review account reconciliations
  • Assist with the external financial and tax audits
  • Document and monitor internal controls
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned, i.e. due diligence inquiries, integration of new acquisitions, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum six years of related accounting experience
  • Strong understanding and foundation in accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with accounting software and business applications
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
  • Healthcare experience is a plus
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Must demonstrate expert knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with GAAP
  • Ability to grasp company financial policies and protocols
  • Excellent M365 skills, in particular Excel
  • Knowledge of AI applications and potential integration with accounting workflows
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
  • Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
  • Ability to supervise and guide an accounting team
  • Ability to organize and effectively work on multiple projects at one time
  • Communicate effectively both written and verbal in English
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner across all levels
HOURS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Our corporate office is in Tampa, FL. The job will be Monday through Friday typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Work hours may be subject to change.
