We deliver groundbreaking products of exceptional value and top-notch quality to consumers with our well-recognized brands including Spectracide®, Hot Shot®, Cutter®, Repel®, Black Flag®, Garden Safe®, EcoLogic® and Liquid Fence®.<br><br><strong>Job Summary<br><br></strong>The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager will manage environmental, health, safety, security, and workers compensation issues for United Industries’ Home & Garden Division at the Vinita Park Facility. This position will play a key role in providing a safe and healthy workplace for each of our employees while ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.<br><br><strong>Primary Duties & Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Lead the facility’s environmental, health, safety, and sustainability initiatives in alignment with local, group, and corporate objectives.</li><li>Manage safety performance and reporting through electronic EHS Safety Management Systems.</li><li>Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations; represent or support representation of the company in all regulatory interactions.</li><li>Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.</li><li>Design, coordinate, and deliver training programs for managers and employees on key safety and environmental topics, including fire prevention, lockout/tagout, hazardous waste handling, spill prevention and control, chemical hygiene and safety, hearing conservation, respiratory protection, and hazard communication.</li><li>Serve as a key leader on the plant Safety Committee, facilitating safety initiatives, campaigns, and communications.</li><li>Oversee site emergency action planning, including collaboration with local Police and Fire Departments and coordination of emergency drills.</li><li>Ensure compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) standards, including scheduling Process Hazard Analyses, submitting Risk Management Plans, and training affected personnel.</li><li>Conduct EHS audits to evaluate compliance and identify improvement opportunities; communicate findings to site and corporate leadership and drive corrective actions in partnership with employees.</li><li>Prepare, submit, and maintain all required environmental reports for federal, state, and local agencies.</li><li>Compile, analyze, and submit safety and accident statistics to internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies as required.</li><li>Support the workers’ compensation program by providing incident data, leading investigations, recommending corrective actions, and facilitating return-to-work or modified duty plans to reduce lost time.</li><li>Demonstrate and promote Spectrum Brands’ core values—Trust, Accountability, and Collaboration—to drive service excellence, achieve organizational goals, and support fiscal responsibility.</li><li>Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.<br><br></li></ul>Education and Experience Profile<br><br><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Engineering or equivalent field of study preferred.</li><li>Minimum 5 years of experience in an EHS role with demonstrated knowledge of applicable environmental health and safety regulations required.</li><li>Manufacturing facility experience is required.</li><li>Experience with Process Safety Management/Risk Management Planning a plus.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Required Skills<br><br></strong><ul><li>Strong analytical skills to determine root cause, resolve operational failures and establish corrective/preventative actions.</li><li>Ability to analyze, plan and manage to goal attainment.</li><li>Be a driver of EHS requirements and capable of coordinating the design, build, and implementation of quality solutions to problems.</li><li>Ability to work as an individual contributor and as a facilitator for work teams.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to coordinate and collaborate with site leadership.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to provide hands-on training and coaching.</li><li>Demonstrated success in managing systems and processes.</li><li>Extremely motivated and a passion for tackling challenges.</li><li>Demonstrated leadership, presentation, and training skills.</li><li>Strong organization and planning abilities.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal</li><li>PC skills (spreadsheet, word processing, presentations).<br><br></li></ul>Work Environment<br><br><ul><li>Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
