The Technology Product Management team within Cloud and Platform Engineering, is responsible for technology products that can be broadly reused across Scotiabank. Technology Products are digital services and frameworks, that provide solution teams with the capabilities they need to deliver digital solutions for Scotiabank's business products. These technology products include a modern Cloud and DevOps platform, along with digital capabilities in the domains of API, Events, Customer Authentication, Customer Notification, and Content Management.

The Technical Product Manager is responsible for technology product planning and technology product adoption. This includes managing the technology product throughout the Product Lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and user requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, to deliver technology products that enable success for digital solutions. It also includes working with Engagement Managers, Scotia Digital Operations, and Global Technology Service (IT Operations) to ensure adoption targets are met. This role will contribute to the overall success of Scotia Digital Engineering by ensuring technology products are well defined with predictable roadmaps through effective collaboration with key stakeholders within Scotia Digital and across Scotiabank.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.

  • Engages with engineering and architecture teams across Scotia Digital and Scotiabank to gather and prioritize product features.

  • Researches and has expert knowledge on the technology product domain, how this technology is operated like a product in other large enterprises, and product offerings that would help to inform buy, build, partner decisioning.

  • Defines the technology product strategy and roadmap.

  • Delivers a product backlog with well-defined and prioritized product features with corresponding justification (the what and the why)

  • Leads the development of business cases to allocate required funding and time, with support from Scotia Digital Engineering and Scotia Digital Operations

  • Develop the core positioning and messaging for the technology product.

  • Organizes and leads product demos to users and briefs & trains the Engagement Managers about the products they manage

  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

  • 8+ years of experience with the technology domain for managed technology products

  • Experience with the creation and ongoing management of technology products within an nterprise

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, Spanish is an asset.

  • Excellent teamwork skills

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
