Social Media Specialist Contractor

Role Description: Reporting to the Web Department Manager, this role involves creating and implementing a social media strategy for our clients. The social media specialist will be responsible for growing social media channels and will execute the promotion of resources online. Alongside creating and implementing social media and marketing strategies, this role involves creating social media assets and other design elements in Canva or Photoshop.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree is ideal, preferably in Communications/English, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or Design or equivalent in a field relevant to social media marketing and/or equivalent experience

Prefer experience in aiding small businesses to grow their brand and online following.

Proficiency in Canva or Photoshop and ability to edit photos and create social media assets

Creativity and keen eye for design

Knowledge of all social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.

Strong organization and time-management skills

Responsibilities and Duties:

Evaluating current social media marketing strategy and implementing

Promoting the clients business on social media channels

Creation of content that meets our clients standards

Creation of promotional assets from scratch using graphic design on Canva or Photoshop

Social media engagement for the purposes of content contribution

Social media engagement on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn (not limited to)

Comment, Like and Share on Partner’s posts

Replying to direct messages

General Requirements for Role:

High-speed internet connection

Use of own technology (laptop) with the ability to use Zoom and Teams video calls.

NOTE: This is not an employment position.

This opportunity is of a CONTRACT nature and the successful contractor will be responsible for their own WorkSafeBC premiums, CPP, EI contributions and remitting their own tax installments

You will be assigned specific accounts, and those will be yours to handle. Communication with the customer and rep is key to success. Initial set up may take longer, but then many programs will go into very standard routine.

Pay structure is as follows:

Social Media Management:

Basic - $100/month - 1 post per week

Bronze - $174/month - 2 posts per week

Silver - $250/month - 3 posts per week

Gold - $350/month - 4 posts per week

Social Media Adeverstising:

Basic 200 - $25/month (keep in mind most Facebook Ads are set up and then just run for months without change)

Basic 300 - $35/month

Bronze 400 - $50/month

Bronze 500 - $60/month

Silver 600 - $75/month

Silver 700 - $85/month

Silver 800 - $100/month

Each extra 100 after is an additional $10/month after this point.
