Security Operations Director
Position Description:
The Security Operations Director is responsible for providing overall leadership and direction for the security monitoring, triage, incident response and incident management teams. The director of SecOps is also responsible for optimizing security operations with innovation and integration of new capabilities.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
. Lead the operation of the security monitoring, incident management and incident response departments to ensure timely response, investigation and remediation execution across cloud, on premise and remote devices.
. Manage a team of security professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive performance by establishing and tacking performance metrics, SLAs and KPIs.
. Provide technical leadership and guidance for any security solutions and systems in support of the business strategic plan to ensure successful integration with operational processes and existing technologies.
. Develop and implement best practices to enhance the operations posture of the organization security systems and ensure compliance with relevant compliance, regulations, and standards.
. Maintain and evolve a security operational reporting function to provide visibility into the risk and security posture of CGI as well as guiding the security operations function.
. Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and other service providers to evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance cyber security capabilities.
. Stay informed about the latest cyber security trends, threats, vulnerabilities, technologies and provide strategic guidance to leadership on cyber security solutions and mitigation strategies.
Service Management
. Work closely with the Director of Security Technical Operations to ensure security tooling is optimally configured and available for use by the Security Operations team
. Collaborate with Project Managers and/or lead service delivery & evolution (requirements, SLA, etc.).
. Maintain relationship with vendors, internal and external service providers.
HR Management
. Provide coaching and education to members of the security team in support of their career path.
. Manage, set objectives, and measure member performance in achieving those objectives.
. Responsible for resource management and staffing allocation (i.e. training, budget, hiring, etc.)
. Support and develop members of the Security Operations team in their career path.
Other Responsibilities
. Optimize security operations using DevOps concepts, AI and automation.
. Lead the strategy, lifecycle management, and continuous evolution of GSOC security technologies and architecture (such as SIEM, SOAR, threat intelligence platforms, EDR/XDR, incident management tools) in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
The candidate should have expertise and strong experience (7-10 years) in at least two (2) of the following areas with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role:
. Cyber security services delivery
. Security solutions operations
. IT operations & solution delivery
. In-depth knowledge of cyber security principles, practices, technologies, and standards.
. Experience with integrating and operating IT/security systems and platforms (such SIEM, Log Management, Endpoint protection, etc.)
. Strong understanding of IT operational model and service delivery practices aligned with ITIL service delivery components.
. Good understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, SOC2 Type II, PCI DSS, NIST Cybersecurity Framework).
. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Education:
. Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Certifications:
. Relevant certifications (e.g., SANS, CISSP, CISM, ITIL, etc) preferred.
Skills:
. Ability to deliver high quality reporting on technical issues identified and providing remediation guidelines.
. Excellent communication skills including effective executive presentations.
. Ability to manage and direct difficult or challenging scenarios
. French verbal and written fluent is a plus
