The stage has been set for Women’s to accelerate our priorities and capture the momentum to catapult our system forward to revolutionize healthcare for everyone.<br><br><strong>Applicants must reside and be legally eligible to work in Ontario. <br><br></strong>This is a <strong>Temporary Part-Time</strong> Opportunity.<br><br><strong>Type: </strong>New<br><br><strong>Duration:</strong> 6 months<br><br>The Research Assistant will work with the General Psychiatry and SCOPE Programs at Women’s College Hospital (WCH) under the supervision of a Dr.Blanca-Bolea Alamanac focused on improving outpatient mental health care. The research team conducts applied studies that evaluate and enhance models of care, patient experience and well-being, and transitions from hospital to community-based services.<br><br>Projects involve collaboration with psychiatrists, allied health professionals, and community partners, using both quantitative and qualitative methods. The Research Assistant will support multiple studies through participant recruitment, consent, data collection and management (REDCap, EPIC), and preparation of research materials and reports.<br><br><strong>Summary Of Duties, But Not Limited To<br><br></strong><ul><li>Develop and maintain project tracking systems (e.g., participant logs, screening logs, and recruitment dashboards).Learn and utilize various web-based research tools (e.g., REDCap, EPIC, Microsoft Teams, Zoom) for data collection and coordination. </li><li>Assist with submission of manuscripts to scientific journals – may involve creating tables, figures, proof reading, preparation of cover letter, coordinating documents to sign, electronic submission. </li><li>Conduct literature searches and reviews to support manuscript development, grant submissions, and presentations.</li><li>Experience in the various steps of research development including protocol writing, synthesis of research data and scientific literature and grant writing</li><li>Knowledge of REB processes including writing informed consent forms, study leaflets and lay summaries.</li><li>Responsible for conducting telephone, online, or in-person recruitment interviews to collect study participant data including obtaining informed consent</li><li>Completes review of medical records to collect research data</li><li>Prepares detailed notes of all interactions with participants </li><li>Completes data entry and quality control ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data collection; may investigate missing or invalid data and prepare data sets</li><li>Help maintain research files to store, access, and retrieve study data as specified at one or more sites </li><li>Communicates with Research Coordinator and/or Principal Investigator to provide updates </li><li>Schedules and attends research meetings, including preparing agendas and meeting minutes </li><li>May prepare and mail out follow-up questionnaires to research participants or collaborators</li><li>Prioritizes and monitors various study deadlines for their own work</li><li>Provides other administrative support as required, including filing, photocopying, acquiring signatures and CV maintenance </li><li>May assist team members with preparing materials for proposals, progress reports, presentations, and publications</li><li>May assist in the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data and the interpretation of results <br><br></li></ul>As a role model and champion, you will work to identify and integrate safe, best practices into daily activities to foster the delivery of safe and exemplary care.<br><br>The responsibilities described above are representative and are not to be construed as all-inclusive.<br><br><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Undergraduate degree required </li><li>Experience in research including protocol writing, grant writing and synthesis of research data</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communications skills</li><li>Work efficiently under pressure with strong judgement and decision-making skills </li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills </li><li>Well-developed interpersonal and customer service skills</li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality</li><li>Mastery of MS Office applications including Excel, Outlook, Access and Word an asset<br><br></li></ul><strong>Why Choose Us?<br><br></strong><ul><li>Be part of a dedicated team committed to excellence.</li><li>Shape the future of healthcare in a supportive environment.</li><li>Enjoy competitive benefits and an excellent defined benefit pension plan (HOOPP). <br><br></li></ul>Women's College Hospital is a fully affiliated teaching hospital of the University of Toronto and is committed to fairness and equity in employment and our recruitment and selection practices.
