We are expanding our team of account managers responsible for helping to grow our business with commercial and biotech customers.</p><p><br></p><p>The Key Account Manager, Commercial West will lead activities to identify and drive opportunities to increase the use of QIAGEN Digital Insights technologies, products, and services at small and mid sized pharma and biotech in the western United States, with a focus on California. This role involves expanding your professional network within new and existing accounts to identify key contacts; Identifying critical business issues and proposing software and service solutions; Working closely with other members of the QDI team to pursue sales opportunities, both new and renewal.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Position Description </strong></p><p><br></p><p>- Develop a robust understanding of QDI’s portfolio, including the Biomedical Knowledge Base, Ingenuity Pathway Analysis, CLCbio, OmicSoft, HGMD, QCI and COSMIC. Continue learning as our portfolio expands.</p><p>- As a hunter, prospect and lead establishment of direct access to QDI data and software solutions in support of genomics analysis and data science-driven drug discovery, including in machine learning and AI.</p><p>- Generate, secure, and drive a continuous deal flow of attractive professional service opportunities that lead to high value agreements with an emphasis on genomic data analysis, custom plugins and pipeline optimizations for secondary analysis of NGS data, and expert curation activities.</p><p>- Lead negotiation of renewals and expansion of software license agreements.</p><p>- Establish and grow relationships at all levels of customer organizations, including scientists, software developers, leadership, and C-suite executives.</p><p>- Understand and effectively engage a wide range of internal and external functional areas including Legal, IP, Finance, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, Sales & Marketing, to develop and maintain effective customer relationships.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Position Requirements</strong></p><p><br></p><p>We are looking for a sales professional with solid knowledge of the pharmaceutical R&D and biotech markets who can help us to grow our business primarily in the CA geography.</p><p><br></p><p>The ideal candidate will have:</p><p><br></p><p>- Bachelor’s degree: Preferably in Business, Engineering, Science, or a Related Field. Masters or PhD a plus.</p><p>- Solid genetics and molecular biology foundation to allow for a consultative approach with M.D. / Ph.D.- level customers.</p><p>- Knowledge of machine learning and AI as it applies to biotech and biopharma a plus.</p><p>- Knowledge of NGS data analysis strongly preferred.</p><p>- Minimum of 3 years of experience and success selling enterprise software solutions.</p><p>- Demonstrated and successful track record of establishing software or service contracts within R&D groups.</p><p>- Strong personal relationships within biotech and pharmaceutical R&D within west coast biotech hubs.</p><p>- Active listening capabilities to gain complete and clear information from clients and to help build rapport.</p><p>- Strength in driving and executing on sales strategies as a self-motivated, quick-learning, and high business-acumen rep.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Personal Requirements</strong></p><p><br></p><p>- Residency must be in the western US with a strong preference for San Diego, CA or the San Francisco / Bay Area.</p><p>- This position is a remote sales position, primarily working from home.</p><p>- Travel is estimated at 35% but is not limited as such.</p><p><br></p><p><em>The estimated base salary and commission range for this position is $180,000 - $215,000. Compensation will be based on the candidate’s experience, skills, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
