The GRM team are a diverse group of multi-disciplinary Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) that uses the fundamental principles of geoscience to better understand Teck’s assets. The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to assess geochemical data and apply accepted Quality Controls (QC), thus helping ensure that these foundational datasets are fit for use. These foundational geochemical assay databases are the fundamental inputs which inform foundational geoscience datasets and ultimately resource and reserve calculations.<br><br>This role provides an excellent opportunity to improve skills in data analysis and data compilation, while gaining valuable insights into industry standard processes. The ideal candidate is keen to deepen their understanding of the application of geochemistry and quality control principles. If you have interest in geochemical data, this is a phenomenal opportunity to learn how to manage and assess geochemical data and ensure it is fit for purpose.<br><br>This position reports to the Senior Project Chemist, based in Vancouver, with the option to work remotely up to two days per week.<br><br>If you are not currently located in the area of this co-op position, you must be willing to either commute or relocate to the surrounding area for the entire duration of the co-op term. You must also currently be a student enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution and will be enrolled throughout the duration of the co-op term (you will also be returning back to the post-secondary institution once the co-op term is completed).
