What is the opportunity?

RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM) is the asset management division of Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). RBC GAM provides global investment management services and solutions to individual, high-net-worth, and institutional investors through mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, hedge funds, pooled funds, separate accounts, and specialty investment strategies.

The Financial Analyst, GAMFinance will support the GAM business in the production of monthly/quarterly financial reporting, analysis, and operational processes. This role will involve assisting in the preparation of financial results, supporting planning and forecasting activities, and ensuring accurate financial data. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in finance and accounting, strong analytical skills, and a desire to grow within the organization.

What will you do?

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results and reports for internal stakeholders.

  • Support the month-end close process by collaborating with the team to resolve accounting or reporting issues.

  • Contribute to the preparation of financial presentations and summaries, including commentary on performance trends and variances.

  • Participate in the forecasting, and budgeting processes by providing support and analysis.

  • Assist in building and maintaining schedules, working files, and reports for internal use.

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including automation, to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Perform ad-hoc tasks and analysis as required to support the team and broader business objectives.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Up to 2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role (including internships or co-op placements).

  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Nice-to-have:

  • Progress toward CPA or CFA designation (or interest in pursuing).

  • Familiarity with financial systems such as PeopleSoft, SAP, or similar tools, such as Tableau.

  • Knowledge of financial services or asset management industries.

  • Exposure to US GAAP or other regulatory reporting standards.
