That is our North Star and, together, we help shape leaders that build stronger communities.</p> <p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p> <p>The Occasional In-Community/Classrooms Program Specialist supports the planning and facilitation of Tims Camps Community and Classrooms Programs which take place at schools in their designated region. This role is responsible for ensuring participants have a positive, high quality program experience, with a focus on high quality program facilitation and delivery for maximum impact. The Occasional In-Community/Classrooms Program Specialist applies their knowledge of youth development, outdoor and experiential education, program quality systems, and demonstrated excellence in coaching and facilitation to provide direction, coaching and support to the youth we serve.</p> <p><strong>Is this role right for you?</strong></p> <p>This opportunity is a great fit for current or former educators, outdoor educators and experiential learning professionals, or other youth development professionals who are looking for a casual on-call opportunity. There is no guarantee of hours or number of work assignments during the contract period. The anticipated contract duration is from January 2026 to June 2026.</p> <p><strong>Posting Type</strong></p> <p>Internal and external.</p> <p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p> <p><strong>Youth engagement</strong></p> <ul> <li>Facilitate programs based on Tims Camps program curriculum, standards, and local operating procedures.</li> <li>Provide direction and guidance to participants that celebrates their differences and plans for their success.</li> <li>Ensure participants are engaged and recognized for their contributions and achievements. </li> <li>Provide support to participants, staff and educators in assisting with participant behaviour management issues. </li> <li>Complete progress reports and all necessary documentation in Salesforce. Ensure all Tims Camps Salesforce practices are maintained. </li> <li>Support with communication to schools as directed/needed. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Customer Service</strong><strong> </strong></p> <ul> <li>Contribute to the delivery of the program and work collaboratively with functional teams when required.</li> <li>For a variety of different user groups, display excellence in facilitation, group management and oversee the instructional program. </li> <li>As an agent for Tims Camps in the community, ensure a consistent front-line hospitable and customer service-oriented presence. </li> <li>Ensure program areas, activity spaces and program equipment are ready and available for safe participant use. This includes inventory, maintenance schedules, etc. </li> <li>Complete assigned administrative duties.</li> <li>Support cross functional tasks as required.</li> <li>Build and foster positive relationships with teachers, administrators, and other education stakeholders.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Risk Management</strong><strong> </strong></p> <ul> <li>Be accountable for risk assessment and implementation of Tims Camps safety standards/protocols/procedures which includes teaching and monitoring safe implementation of activity-based learning.</li> <li>Ensure participants are following proper safety standards and/or guidelines that apply to work in a school or community setting.</li> <li>Complete emergency response training and ensure clear understanding of assigned responsibilities while working on location/site. </li> <li>Follow direction from THFC risk management teams on protocols and procedures. </li> </ul> <p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p> <ul> <li>University degree and/or college background in Education, Outdoor Experiential Education or related field/similar experience. Bachelor of Education degree considered an asset.</li> <li>Superior written and oral communication skills with strong time management, project management, and organizational skills across multiple priorities and projects.</li> <li>3+ years of experience working with children/youth of various abilities, preferably in an education and/or outdoor/camp setting.</li> <li>Skilled in behaviour management and problem solving.</li> <li>Ability to exercise good judgement and professionalism when interacting with schools and community groups.</li> <li>Demonstrated excellence in program facilitation.</li> <li>Access to a personal vehicle and licensed with a valid G Class Driver’s License, or equivalent (required).</li> <li>Must have, or be able to obtain upon hire, the required level of third-party liability insurance coverage for the role.</li> <li>Travel required within designated geographic area. Must be able to work a flexible schedule which could include working early mornings, evenings and weekends.</li> <li>Current Standard First Aid/CPR-C certification considered an asset.</li> <li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.</li> <li>Are legally eligible to work in Canada.</li> <li>Able to provide an acceptable criminal background check or vulnerable sector check.</li> <li>Bilingual in French and English considered an asset.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Application Instructions</strong></p> <p>This role will remain open until it is filled.
