Audio Visual Coordinator (Part Time)

Sun City Grand/The Grand is the premier active, age-restricted community in Arizona. We are currently seeking a part time Audio/Visual Coordinator. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of all A/V systems across The Grand. This position ensures the successful technical execution of meetings, programs, and events while supporting the integration, documentation, and improvement of facility-wide A/V systems. This position balances hands-on operational coordination (80%) with technical systems supports and engineering collaboration (20%). Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure seamless execution of events through timely setup, operation, and teardown of A/V systems as outlined in room setup sheets;
  • Provide live technical support during meetings, performances, and other community events to ensure high-quality sound and video experiences;
  • Respond, troubleshoot, and correct A/V malfunctions quickly, minimizing downtime and disruption;
  • Maintain and organize A/V equipment inventory to ensure operational readiness;
  • Provide onsite training and support to staff, clubs, and volunteers on the proper use of audiovisual systems and software;
  • Maintain awareness of scheduled events and coordinate with Facilities and Activities departments to ensure accurate technical setups;
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to residents, clubs, and staff, maintaining composure and professionalism during high-pressure situations;
  • Assist the IT Manager in the design, documentation, and implementation of A/V system upgrades and new installations across The Grand’s facilities;
  • Maintain accurate wiring diagrams, configuration files, and system documentation for all A/V locations;
  • Support configuration, testing, and deployment of digital signal processors (DSPs), video switchers, lighting systems, and control interfaces;
  • Collaborate with vendors, IT, and Facilities on projects involving A/V network integration (e.g., Dante, Crestron, Extron, or Q-SYS environments);
  • Evaluate and recommend A/V technologies that improve reliability, energy efficiency, or user experience;
  • Provide technical insight for long-range A/V planning and capital improvement projects;
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail and time management;
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with IT, Facilities, and Activities departments;
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and composure under pressure;
  • Commitment to excellent resident service and teamwork within The Grand’s community culture; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, associate degree or technical certification in Audio Engineering, Media Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in audio-visual operations, including sound mixing, projection, and video systems; experience in system installation, configuration, or design preferred.
  • Working knowledge of A/V networking and control systems (e.g., Dante, Q-SYS, Crestron, Extron) desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
