Associate Creative Director - Design

At Chewy, we’re sniffing around for an Associate Creative Director (Design) to take the leash on a few of our highest priority workflows within Chewy Health! As a prominent leader on our Health Creative team, this ACD will be responsible for helping craft the visual design and execution of Chewy Health’s storytelling efforts, with a focus on delivering high-quality visual work while maintaining brand consistency and evolving creative strategies.

This Associate Creative Director brings a proven know-how in conceptualizing and implementing creative that move bottom lines in the right direction and social executions that breakthrough and connect with pet parents in ways that are entertaining, authentic and memorable.

At Chewy, we’re doing nearly all brand development in-house these days. We are looking for someone with the strategic, conceptual and executional craft to help our brand navigate and succeed across today’s modern brand landscape and an increasingly competitive pet care industry.

This role will report into the Chewy Health Creative Director and will spend their days elevating our brand’s standard of work up and down the marketing funnel.

This role is expected to work in-person three days a week in Plantation, FL.

What you’ll do:

  • Work with different teams within Chewy to plan and manage creative campaigns that connect with our marketing goals.
  • Develop and manage development of multi-channel concepts with cross functional teams. Ensures brand guidelines are applied across all campaigns.
  • Translate marketing strategy and briefs into a unified creative strategy and vision for multi-channel campaigns.
  • Lead the overall design direction and make sure our creative work - from static paid social graphics to motion and video assets - looks great and fits the brand.
  • Keep the brand consistent everywhere, while finding new ways to tell stories as our business grows.
  • Review assets and provide feedback to ensure campaign consistency across multi-channels and adherence to brand guidelines and standards.
  • Give creative guidance for photo and video shoots so the final content looks strong and true to Chewy’s brand.
  • Collaborate with Creative Directors, marketing partners, and leaders to come up with fresh ideas and strategies.
  • Support and guide designers as needed, and work closely with writers, strategists, and producers to deliver high-quality work.
  • Review data and campaign results to understand what’s working and use those insights to improve future creative projects.

What you’ll need:

  • 6+ years of professional design experience in an in-house team or agency setting, e-commerce highly preferred.
  • 2+ years in a creative leadership role with direct team management.
  • Proven expertise in art direction, branding, visual storytelling, and digital content creation across various platforms.
  • Strong typography, layout, and design skills, with a deep understanding of brand identity and marketing strategy.
  • Ability to problem-solve creatively, troubleshoot design challenges, and provide strategic solutions. This includes understanding the nuance of B2B and B2C within the Chewy Health ecosystem.
  • Experience leading photo and video production, with an eye for composition, lighting, and storytelling.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and other industry-standard design
  • Excellent time management and organization skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to present you/your team’s work, mentor and manage designers, direct reports, and collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to internalize and embrace the Chewy Health brand and creative guidelines while pushing the creative in a strategic, memorable way.
