Now is your time to become a game changer and join the workforce that will plan and deliver this extraordinary and unforgettable experience.<br><br>THE POSITION<br><br>Reporting organisationally to the Head of Finance, the Accountant – Accounts Payable will help serve Finance efforts for the FIFA World Cup 2026 that for the first time ever, is hosting 48 teams and 1,200+ players across 3 countries and 16 venues. This role will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accurate and timely preparation of accounts payable payments, reports and analysing payment data. Further, this role will oversee invoice processing, cash flow management and adherence to financial policies and reporting standards.<br><br>The main responsibilities of the Accountant – Accounts Payable for the FIFA World Cup 2026 include:<br><br><ul><li> Verify and perform payments to suppliers & manage cash flow and ensure all payments are properly approved prior to payment. </li><li>Managing payment runs, single payment orders and creditor invoices. </li><li>Processing and checking creditor invoices in the online workflow system. </li><li>Overseeing the preparation and submission of timely accounts payable reports for review by senior management and stakeholders. </li><li>Monitoring and reconciling vendor accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. </li><li>Implementing and maintaining strong internal controls to safeguard against fraudulent activities and ensure compliance with financial policies. </li><li>Collaborating with the procurement department to streamline purchasing processes and optimize vendor relationships. </li><li>Managing the payment processing system and ensuring timely disbursement of funds to vendors and suppliers. </li><li>Coordinating with external auditors during financial audits and providing required documentation related to accounts payable transactions. </li><li>Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements for accounts payable transactions. </li><li>Generating cash flow forecasts and reports to support financial planning and budgeting processes. <br><br></li></ul><strong>FIFA World Cup 2026 Skills Framework<br><br></strong><strong>ACCOUNTABILITY</strong>: Demonstrate commitment to responsibilities and objectively analyze one’s behaviour, while assuming consequences of one’s own actions and/or decisions and learning from one’s mistakes.<br><br><strong>DECISION MAKING</strong>: Ability to identify and swiftly make decisions in critical situations, take initiative and calculated risks, explore alternative solutions, and respond promptly to unforeseen circumstances.<br><br><strong>INCLUSIVITY</strong>: Achieve shared organizational objectives by sharing information with colleagues across all levels and divisions, tangibly influencing others, and maintaining a network of support contacts.<br><br><strong>INITIATIVE</strong>: Capacity to break new ground, look for unconventional solutions, and produce fresh ideas.<br><br><strong>INNOVATION</strong>: Capacity to break new ground, look for unconventional solutions, and produce fresh ideas.<br><br><strong>LEADERSHIP</strong>: Ability to lead one’s contacts/colleagues/partners, encourage teamwork, and delegate authority / decision-making power, as needed, to produce the expected results and make efficient use of the team’s skills and talents.<br><br><strong>VISION</strong>: Ability to perceive the organization's global environmental impact, anticipate decision consequences, grasp organizational missions, and formulate strategic plans.<br><br><strong>Education & Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree or similar level of education in Accounting, etc. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Work Experience<br><br></strong><ul><li> Minimum of 2+ years of work experience in accounts payable reporting, accounting, etc. </li><li>Strong analytical skills and attention to detail</li><li>Ability to see the big picture and adapt accordingly<br><br></li></ul><strong>Languages<br><br></strong><ul><li>Fluent in English.
